Fall Space Needle by exorp Fall Space Needle by exorp
This was taken on a recent trip of mine with some friends from my school to Seattle, WA. I wanted to take a shot of the Space Needle with my new film camera, but I wanted to try to make it unique some how. I noticed the pretty fall leaves and then framed it with them, actually focusing on the leaves. I am very very pleased with my results. I think I am going to want to get this one enlarged. Hope you enjoy it!

Gorgeous colours here. The vibrant red works very well in combination with the soft blue sky. The building fits in nicely too, the round shape has a somewhat organic feel to it. Great focus too.

Oh, I love, love, *love* this picture. It's so beautiful, and the colors of the leaves framed against the light blue sky...it makes me miss Seattle a whole bunch. Absolutely wonderful. Definitely a favorite.

that's a great shot. i've seen several shots of the space needle before and have been impressed with them, but they're all the same. by adding the fall colored leaves in the foreground I think you've put a whole new view on the structure by showing it's surroundings. great shot!! :)

Ah! This shot is awesome. Great composition and great depth. The colors are also amazing, really nioce shot. I like the combination of the straight lines on the tower and then the more patternless lines of the braches and leafs. I gotta fav..

I wished I lived farther north, at least to be surrounded by such beautiful scenery in the fall. It's a rare thing to see a tree with such amazing colors here in Texas. I think you were successful in taking a unique and quality photo. I'm glad that your new camera is in the hands of someone who knows what he is doing.

great use of depth of field and choice of what to have in focus. The light hits the leaves in the foregroud and really brings out the warm red colours which looks brilliant :)

I love it! The cropping is fantastic and the framing of the leaves is brilliant. I appologize for not being a critical insensitive prick, as I tend to be, but I love your photo. Perhaps it's because of my obsession withh anything and everything "Seattle," but I still agree that the cropping and framing are wonderful. Perhaps I should appologize for the favorite, as well? ;)

no problem. :)
Oh no, what I meant by cropping was that you naturally cropped it the way that you shot the photo (no computer manipulation needed).
Have a spectacular day (or evening I suppose)!

This is nicely done; slight graininess issue b/c of the scanner, but over all really nice. I would love to see this in a higher res. The focus on the leaves was a brilliant touch - I love the deepness of their colour against the sky. Excellent.

Very nice composition...the choice of focus in this picture is smart because as a viewer I get to see the "smaller" things in life even though the space needle is wanting to dominate the frame. Nicely done.
